The advertising and marketing giant WPP is expected to seek acquisitions following the merger of rivals Omnicom and Publicis.
Shares in large advertising companies such as Japanese rival Dentsu and Havas of France have gained on the back of talk that WPP will make an acquisition in an attempt to compete with the merged Omnicom/Publicis, which will be the largest advertising company globally. The Sunday Telegraph mentioned speculation that WPP might try to sell its creative businesses and focus on media buying, marketing and data.
WPP’s market capitalisation is currently £15.97bn (US$24.46bn).
